Repent of Iniquity and Hear the Lord (Ether 4, 5 & 11, 12)

Ether 4

The word of the Lord will not be heard by you until you have repented of your iniquity. Iniquity is when your heart is set on things of the world or anything other than being set on the Lord. The day that you exercise faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your worldly desires will be the day the Lord begins to manifest things unto you, this includes revelations. Eventually, he will show you all things as your understanding of him broadens into knowledge. You will then see the Lord, Jesus Christ, and when you are ready he’ll introduce you to the Father.

Make sure you do not contend against the word of the Lord, for if you deny the things of the Lord you will be accursed and you will not be shown greater things. Hear out others, listen for the Spirit of the Lord, look for the good. You can recognize the disciples of the Lord because what they say will help you realize what is good. Whatsoever thing that persuadeth you to do good comes from God. The good cometh from God and none other. He is the light, the life and the truth to the world. Come unto Jesus Christ and he will show you greater things. Open up so you can let the Lord in and cast away your unbelief. Break down your unbelief and hardness of heart by having a broken heart and contrite spirit. Receive the Lord, fear not to leave the world.

After you have opened up and believe that you will receive, looking for eternal things (things of the Lord) within all things, the Lord says that you will recognize what was written by John the Revelator as they unfold. When you see these things you will know the time is at hand.

Repent by coming unto the Lord, leave your worldly cares behind. Believe in the Lord’s gospel. Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, because when you truly believe in him and are baptized by someone who has been given authority from him, you will be saved. Blessed you will be if you are found true and faithful at the last day because at that day you will be lifted up from the things temporal/telestial to dwell in the kingdom prepared from the foundation of the world.

Ether 5

The golden plates can only be translated with wisdom in God. There are three witnesses who have been shown, by the power of God, the golden plates. The gospel found in the Book of Mormon is to be established by three witnesses, “the testimony of three, and this work, in the which shall be shown forth the power of God and also his word, of which the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost bear record”. All of this will stand as a testimony against those who are of the world at the last day. You need to repent and come unto the Father in the name of Jesus. Seek to understand the testimony of the three witnesses and the works of the Book of Mormon and this thru faith and listening intently to the spirit to hear the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost bear record of truthfulness.

Ether 11

Prophets teach that you must have faith and exercise repentance or the Lord will bring down his judgments. If you repent, the Lord forgives you, so long as you have a broken heart and a contrite spirit - come unto the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Ether 12

Believe in God unto repentance and this thru faith that all things are fulfilled. Hope for a better world, a better place where you can be in the presence of God. Hope comes from faith and faith brings about good works. Good works bind you to the good, the good is Jesus Christ and he is one with the Father, thus you will be one with them. “Faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.”

Christ, when he came to visit the Nephites soon after his resurrection, showed himself to them because their faith was sufficient. He shows not himself to those whose faith are not sufficient or those who are still of the world. You are invited to partake of the heavenly gift and meet with the Lord face to face as soon as your faith is sufficient to do so. It was by faith that the prophets of old were able to see God and were called after the holy order of God. Faith brought about the law of Moses and a greater faith hath brought a more excellent way, the higher law of seeking God thru faith, even knowing him by coming to him, being as he would be, seeing as he would see and doing as he would do, love unfeigned.

After the trial of their faith all prophets of old were able to bring about miracles and the same goes for prophets of today and always, for the Lord does not change. First, you must have faith and believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, then and only then are things shown unto you and miracles are brought about. To those whose faith is so great, the Lord is unable to hide himself any longer, just as he was unable to hide himself from the brother of Jared.

Be cautioned that you do not do what the Lord warns against when he says, “Fools mock, but they shall mourn”, instead be meek and hear out those people who have even the most humble of origins.

If you come unto Christ he will show you your weaknesses. He gives you weakness that you might be humble. He assures all those who are humble that his grace is sufficient, so if you will humble yourself enough to see what you need to repent of and then repent of it, he will make weak things strong.

Thru works of faith, hope and charity you will be coming unto Jesus Christ, the fountain of all righteousness. After you have faith in Jesus Christ, even unto a fullness thereof, he will manifest himself unto you and show himself unto you in great power.

The Lord has prepared a place for you among his mansions above, if you come unto him by doing what he does. He is full of charity. He came and gave his life to show all of us the way, therefore you must have charity, even in the way Christ had and has charity. You must have charity, you must recognize your weaknesses, you must repent of your weaknesses and thru this process you come to Christ even to the point where you know him and you will then have a place among his mansions. It matters not if others have or have not charity. What matters is that you have charity. Look not for weaknesses in others, only look for guidance to repent of your own weaknesses. Love others and do good works to them and for them. The Lord has shown himself to all his true disciples, continue in faith until it is full and become a true disciple of Christ.

Mormon 7

Come unto repentance or you cannot be saved. Throw down things of man, temporal things made up of this world. Do not take up weapons of war unless the Lord commands you.

Come unto the knowledge of your fathers. These are your spiritual fathers who have come before you and have become eternal beings, even as Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Come unto them by repenting of your sins and iniquities. Do what they have done before you. Become all things eternal, eternally minded, full of love and this thru faith in Jesus Christ and repentance of all things temporal/telestial. Be found guiltless before the Lord at the last day having given up your temporal ways to become godly and eternal. Then you will be one with God and you will live in a state of happiness which hath no end.

The gospel of Christ is set before you. It is set not only in the Book of Mormon but also in the Bible. If you believe that the Lord’s gospel is found in these two books and you have faith in Jesus Christ you will begin to know the fathers, even know what they know, all things eternal. This happens precept by precept until you know all that the fathers know and are one with them and one with Jesus Christ and then Heavenly Father.

You will know you are a remnant of the house of Israel. Continue in faith and repentance and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and receive the Holy Ghost.

Mormon 8

Its been four hundred years since the savior had come and all the Nephites were gone except Moroni. The three Nephite disciples left because of the great wickedness.

Moroni asks you to read the Book of Mormon overlooking the imperfections of man and looking for God and knowledge of him. There is “great gain” to be had from using the Book of Mormon, ‘gain’ meaning becoming more like God. If you share with others the light of the Book of Mormon you will be blessed of the Lord. The Book of Mormon has been brought out of the earth, out of darkness and many will come to the knowledge of the Lord thru it and this has been done and to be done by the power of God.

If you find faults quickly recognize they are faults of men and move forward by looking for God. Search for things of God. Moroni did not see the faults as he says, “But behold, we know no fault”. This demonstrates how he searched only to find God and all things eternal. His focus was on being like Jesus Christ and certainly not on things temporal such as certain faults of man. What you focus on is what you are and what you will be. Focus on finding knowledge in God. Focus on being like God. Judge not others because that sways your focus away from the Lord. Christ assures you that you need not judge, that is his task and his only. Worry not about judging others, you don’t know when they might turn and repent, but convert your worries into the desire of becoming like the Lord.

You need to love everyone regardless of their temporal choices, its eternal things you need to be concerned with. The Lord does not forget his children and his purposes cannot be changed or altered by man.

The word of the Lord will come from out of the earth. This is the word of the prophets and disciples of the Lord who have lived upon this land.

The Lord will soon come. The day spoken of that talks about leaders and teachers of churches being lifted up in pride and those that follow will envy them is today. The time is ripe. Churches have been built up so their followers can get gain instead of using their excess to help the poor and needy. Beyond that, gain comes to the leaders that attain a following and this rather than asserting people should follow the Lord.

People living in this time will believe or rather justify their actions with a spirit that say, ”Do this, or do that, and it mattereth not, for the Lord will uphold such at the last day.” But you are warned that this sort of thinking comes not from the Lord but the spirit of iniquity.

Moroni is talking about your time. He has been shown from the Lord, Jesus Christ. He is speaking to everyone today, especially you. He sees the state everyone is in, especially you, and he is reaching out, “calling as if from the grave”, to help you recognize the awful state you are in. He points out that every church even your current church has “become polluted because of the pride of your hearts”. He tells you it is because of your love of money, nice things, fine apparel and importantly “the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.” Moroni is talking to you to help you recognize these things. He points out that there are pollutions, hypocrites and teachers in the “Holy Church of God”, your church, and wants you to recognize this. See what is from God and see what is from man. Follow God. Build up the Lord’s church, not things of man and the justifications or better put excuses for why you can have this or that. The sword of justice is hanging and will fall unless you repent.

Mormon 9

Deny not Jesus Christ any longer. Do this by accepting who he is and by coming unto him. He was a man just as you are a man and he became a god by following the Father and becoming perfect in all things eternal. He asks you to come to him by doing what he has done. Pray always, listening to him and what he is, learning and progressing through, attaining knowledge of him and eternal ways. This, thru faith, believing you will receive and continuing in faith and repentance until you’ve reached a perfect knowledge of God and his eternal ways.

Quit denying yourself revelations from God and also quit denying yourself prophecies, gifts, healings, speaking in tongues and interpretations of tongues. All these things you can and will have if you come unto the Lord, Jesus Christ. If it were not so he would not ask you to become like him and to do as he does. Come unto Jesus Christ through prayer, even listening to his instructions thru revelation and receive other gifts from God in following his doctrine of faith, repentance and baptism in his name and then receive the Holy Ghost fully accepting that you must and will follow him and strive to be like him.

Even as he is perfect, you will become perfect in following his gospel. This is the gospel and always has been and always will be, it is eternal. He does not change or vary in any way. Take notice when things have changed or are changing for changes are ways of man. Recognize attributes of man as being temporal, worldly and imperfect ways. Learn the attributes of God, things eternal, and emulate them.

When the end cometh, if you are not one with God, being like him, doing as he would do, you will not be able to bare his presence let alone be with him. What you are in your heart and soul is what determines what you are and will be when that day comes. If you desire things of the world then your heart rests with the world. You must desire all things eternal and all things godly, things not of this world but above and beyond this world.

God is a God of miracles. This has not ceased for God does not change. Miracles only cease because of your unbelief. Faith in Jesus Christ brings about miracles, even revelations directly to you from God. He loves you and will speak to you as he promises so long as you ask him to and this thru faith believing you will receive.

Jesus Christ asks all those who have come to him and are his disciples to “go ye into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature”. All that believe and are baptized shall be saved. All that reject and do not believe will be damned. Signs shall follow these disciples and they are signs such as: they shall cast out devils, they shall speak in new tongues, they shall take up serpents, they shall not be poisoned by poisonous drinks and they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

Believe in the Lord, doubt nothing, and receive a confirmation of all his words. Deny not the sayings of the Lord. Despise not the works of the Lord. Despise not the children of God, those who truly seek the Lord. Those who will despise the works will wonder, being lost and will perish.

Hearken unto the words of the Lord. Ask the father in the name of Jesus Christ for clarification of the words of the Lord. Ask what you are in need of doing to become like him. “Doubt not, but be believing, and come unto the Lord with all your heart, and work out your own salvation with fear and trembling before him.”

Make sure that you are not baptized unworthily and that you do not partake of sacrament unworthy. Be worthy be doing all things in the name of Jesus Christ. The scriptures are for you and they are brought about by the Lord specifically for you and this is one of his miracles. Moroni knew you would have his words because he was shown by the Lord.

Do not focus on the imperfections of men. Moroni, a prophet of God, had imperfections. He was a man after all. From anyone and everyone you come across, be it in person or by reading their words, look for things eternal and of God, look past their imperfections (or forgive them of their imperfections). Discern the imperfections, things temporal, and be grateful you have the ability to do so. Use faith in the Lord, listening to his spirit to find his truths even from a person that is seemingly lost.

Love your family, friends and neighbors. Share with them your love for Jesus Christ and encourage them to be like Jesus by coming unto him. And someday you will know him, even see him face to face.
